What we achieved working together at our Bed & Breakfast was incredible. We grew the business and 4 years of being the #1 ranked Inn in Asheville, named several times to the Certificate of Excellence list, and twice to the Best of the Best list by TripAdvisor, as well as being named the #2 Inn in the US and the #7 Inn in the World were as a result of our collaboration and amazing guests. Being named one of Bed&Breakfast.com’s Top 25 B&Bs in the country and a AAA Four Diamond Level for 7 years running are additional examples of our commitment to the guest experience. We were lucky to have many repeat guests, and it made hosting their stays feel like we got to welcome treasured family members and friends home again and again.

I was born and raised near Cleveland, Ohio and attended the University of Akron. I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, an Associates Degree in Drafting Technology, and a Certificate in Cartography. (map drawing)
After University I moved to North Carolina and began a wonderful 30 year Retail Career mostly with two outstanding retailers, Gap Inc. and Williams-Sonoma Inc. I held several District, Regional, and Regional Vice-President positions which afforded me to live in the Southeast, Midwest, West Coast, and North Eastern United States, as well as 7 years in Canada. I was known for my professionalism, establishing teams, opening stores, producing results, operational excellence, focusing in on details, and most importantly the customer experience.
Owning an Inn was a long time passion and goal of mine and I’m a lucky person to be able to live my dream At Abbington Green Bed & Breakfast Inn and Spa I was able to apply my retail skills by establishing an amazing team and restoring a beautiful historic home with modern amenities and conveniences to enhance the guest experience. The addition of the Abbington Green Spa further complimented the total guest experience. Abbington Green became a multi Award Winning Bed and Breakfast with high occupancy, 60% repeat guests, and high profit margins.
My background in retail has given me a strong foundation and an eye for details. Training others has been a strength for me and I’m at a point in my life now where I want to help others live their dreams and be successful with high profits and loyal guests.

Bio
I’m a Midwesterner, and I grew up near Detroit, Michigan. For college, I stayed in the Midwest, attending Miami University in Oxford, Ohio to earn a BA in Sociology and an MS in Child and Family Studies. The thing I liked most about my studies was learning about families and how people interact with one another in different settings.
After college, I got a job at Pottery Barn that I thought would be temporary as I was working on my Master’s Thesis. That job would open doors and hone my skills, and lead me to a 17 year career in retail with Williams-Sonoma, Inc., first at Pottery Barn and then Williams-Sonoma divisions where I held General Manager and ultimately a District Manager level job where I was responsible for 10 stores in the Southeast US, and got the opportunity to work with Nick for the first time.
Customer/Guest Service has always been a priority and a strong skill for me. During my tenure with Williams-Sonoma, Inc. I was awarded the top recognition for Outstanding Customer Service for external guest service and was nominated as a People First Award Winner for my high levels of internal service. Additionally, I was on an elite team of Managers who opened stores in new markets for Pottery Barn, PB Kids, and Williams-Sonoma.
After a great career and 17 years in retail, it was time for a change and I moved overseas to Munich, Germany for 5 years with my spouse for his work. It was a huge change, and had me tapping into my organization and adaptive skills as we made our way through learning a new culture and language.
After repatriating to the US, I found myself with the huge opportunity to reignite my retail career or to try something new. That is when I joined Nick at Abbington Green Bed & Breakfast Inn and Spa, and spearheaded the Social Media aspect of that business remotely. By focusing on the online presence and Social Media outlets, I was able to grow the Inn’s reputation and help it to be what it could be: respected, revered, top-notch.
After a few years, my husband and I made the decision to locate to Asheville in order to work full time and be involved in all aspects of running Abbington Green as the General Manager and Social Media Manager at the Inn.
I look forward to the opportunity to put my background and skills to work for you!
